This is a recipe I have had for a long time.
List of Ingredients
Tools
2 Heavy pots
Stirring spoon
Brush
Candy thermometer
Measuring cup
Measuring spoons, 1/2 Tsp, 1 Tbl
13" x 9" pan
Vegetable oil spray
Knife
Cutting board
Wax paper cut into wrapper sizes
Ingredients
2 C Heavy cream
1/2 C Sweetened condensed milk
2 C Light corn syrup
1/2 C Water
2 C Sugar
1/2 Tsp Salt
8 Tbl Butter (1 cube) cut into 8 pieces
1 Tbl VanillaRecipe
Serves:
Time required: Prepare: 10 minutes Cook: 1 hour
Difficulty: Medium to complex
Directions
1. In one pan warm up cream and condensed milk.
2. In other pan, cook on high for 5 minutes corn syrup, water, sugar, and salt. Use the brush dipped in water to wipe down the sides of the pot to keep crystals from forming. Reduce heat, but keep syrup boiling. Do not stir it now. Heat to 260 degrees or a hard ball.
3. Take off of heat and stir in butter one at a time. Then stir in cream mix.
4. Put back on heat and bring to 248 degrees for 15 minutes.
5. Take off of heat and stir in vanilla.
6. Pour in and level out in an oil sprayed pan.
7. Let cool. Take out of pan onto cutting board, and cut into sizes you want.
8. Wrap in cut waxed paper, then twist both ends to seal.
Serve with
Apples, snacks, or anything you would eat candy with.
Variations
*Roll hot pieces in crushed nuts.
*Add nuts at the end.
