    20 slices homemade-style white bread (Amish, Friendship bread, or Old Fashioned Buttermilk bread) crusts discarded, cut into 1 inch cubes
    2 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese - cut into 1 inch cubes
    1 cup blackberries or blueberries (frozen or fresh)
    12 large eggs
    1/3 cup maple syrup (or you can substitute 1/3 cup orange juice)
    2 cups milk
    1½ teaspoons vanilla

    Recipe



    Arrange half the bread cubes in buttered 9x13 inch baking dish. Scatter cream cheese and berries over bread. Arrange remainder of bread cubes on top. Whisk together eggs, syrup (or orange juice), milk and vanilla. Pour over mixture. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

    Bake, covered for 30 minutes, and uncovered for 30 minutes at 350°. Serves 8
