    9 inch pie crust, unbaked
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1 (6-oz) package chocolate chips
    1/2 cup chopped pecans

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350°. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluggy. Beat in egg and vanilla until well-blended. Sift dry ingredients together; beat into creamed mixture until smooth. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Spoon into pie crust; bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until puffed, golden brown, and set on edges. Pie should be set but not hard in middle; it should feel like a quiche. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
