1/3 cup butter, melted and browned
3 cups sifted powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 to 3 tablespoons half-and-half, or whole milk
Recipe
Over medium heat, gently melt butter and continue heating until the butter turns a deep golden brown. (Be careful not to burn.) Mix together the browned butter with the sugar, adding sugar gradually until all is mixed and smooth. Stir in vanilla. Then blend in cream until spreading consistency is reached. Spread with spatula over cooled cake.
