8 cups rolled oats
2 cups wheat germ
1 cup shredded coconut
½ cup dark honey
1 cup water
2 Tablespoons pure vanilla extract
Recipe
Stir the oats, wheat germ and coconut together in a large bowl. In another bowl, mix the honey, water and vanilla. Pour the two together and mix well. Pour mixture into a large greased cake pan (I use a cookie sheet...it really doesn't matter). Bake at 275° (yes that is right...you want a LOW temperature) for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or there abouts, depending on how crisp you want your granola. Add raisins, and dried fruits of your choice, after it comes out of the oven.
