    1/2 TEASPOON SALT

    SAUTÉ ONIONS IN 2 TABLESPOONS BUTTER UNTIL TRANSPARENT.


    SPOON ONIONS INTO BLENDER WITH 1 CUP WATER. WHIRL UNTIL PUREED.


    SAUTÉ MUSHROOMS IN REMAINING BUTTER.


    ADD REMAINING INGREDIENTS AND STIR UNTIL BLENDED.


    SIMMER, UNCOVERED, 15 MINUTES. CAN BE PREPARED AHEAD AND REHEATED.
