    Bean Soup

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cup navy beans
    • 2 qt. warm water
    • 2 tsp beau monde seasoning
    • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
    • 2 T. inst. onion
    • 2 bay leaves
    • 6/8 peppercorns
    • 1/2 cup diced carrot
    • 1/2 tsp bouquet garni (not available! I used Italian seasoning)
    • 4 T. tomato paste
    • 2 qt. milk.
    • 1 ham bone with meat


    Instructions


    1. Wash beans. Combine with water and simmer 1 hour.

    2. Add seasonings, cook until beans are tender. About 2+ hours

    3. Mash beans, add milk and heat, watch for scorching.

    4. If using ham bone, add with seasonings. Remove when beans are tender, take meat off bone and add back in with milk.
