    Bulgar-Honey Bread

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 c dry bulgar wheat
    • 1/2 c honey
    • 2 T oil
    • 1 T salt
    • 2 pkg dry yeast
    • 7 1/2 to 8 c flour


    Instructions


    1. Combine first 4 ingredients and 3 cups boiling water in large bowl; cool to lukewarm.
    2. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 c warm water. Add to cooled bulgar mixture, mixing well.
    3. Add flour by thirds, beating well after each addition.

    4. Knead on lightly floured surface for 5 minutes or until smooth and elastic.

    5. Place in greased bowl, turning to grease surface. Let rise, covered, in warm place for 2 hours or until doubled in bulk.
    6. Punch dough down and shape into 2 loaves. Place in greased 9 x 5" loaf pan. Let rise, covered, for 1 hour or until doubled in bulk.
    7. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Brush with butter.
