    Recipe Introduction

My Mom & I used to go to several places that "just looked interesting". I cant remember where or when this festival was but it was when I was a kid and I remember asking if I would be able to sample this "Old Tyme Treat". This is kind of like the snack sold in the store called 'Cornuts'.

    • 1 ear dried field corn OR 1c. dried sweet corn
    • salt or flavored seasoning (cheddar, ranch, ect)
    • 2T butter

    Instructions

    1. If useing field corn shell & remove chaff.
    2. Heat 2T. butter in a cast iron skillet over high heat.
    3. Cover bottom of pan with kernels.
    4. Reduce heat slightly & stir constantly as kernels brown, puff & crackle.
    5. Cook 3-5 minutes.
    6. Remove & season corn to taste.
    7. Let cool & serve.
    8. Store tightly in a cool dry location.
