    Source of Recipe

    Aunt Dortha Baker

    Recipe Introduction

I can remember Aunt Dortha making this when she lived in Marion. Her kitchen counters would be packed with cookie sheets full of this light & airy treat.

    List of Ingredients

    2 c. Sugar
    1 c. Light Karo
    1/3 c. HOT water
1 16 oz. package of RAW peanuts (or 3 c.)
    1 t. Salt
    1 T. butter
    1 T. baking soda

    Recipe

Butter 2 baking sheets & keep warm in 200* oven. Cook sugar, karo, & water in 3 qt pan over medium heat stirring occasionally to 240* on Candy Thermometer. stir in peanuts & salt. Cook stirring CONSTANTLY to 310* (or the nuts will burn). Remove from heat, stir in butter & baking soda. Put 1/2 in each baking pan and cool. Break into bite size peices.
