    2 cup packed brown sugar
    1 cup sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2/3 cup milk
    2 tbsp. corn syrup
    2 tbsp. butter (no substitutes)
    1/2 cup flaked coconut or ground nuts

    Recipe



    In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugars and salt. Stir in the milk and corn syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue to boil, without stirring, until candy thermometer reads 234-240 degrees (softball stage). Remove from heat; add buter (do not stir).
