    Recipe Introduction

Delicious on a hot summer evening while entertaining on the "veranda" smelling the scents of jasmine and magnolia blossoms.

    List of Ingredients

    • Per julip cup:
    • 2 jiggers of "good" bourbon
    • 1t. confectioner's sugar, divided
    • 6-8 sprigs of fresh mint
    • water
    • finely crushed ice

    Instructions

    1. You must use a sterling silver julip cup.
    2. Place 3-4 sprigs of mint,1/2 t. of the confectioner's sugar, and just enough water to disslove the sugar.
    3. Crush the paste into the mint leaves.
    4. Fill julip cup half full of crushed ice. Add remaining mint leaves, confectioner's sugar, and more ice to just about fill julip cup.
    5. Pour bourbon over all until cup is full. Top with a final mint leaf.
    6. Place julips in the freezer on a "sterling silver"(very important) tray for about a hour or until heavy frost forms on the goblet.
    7. Serve with short straws on the silver tray.
