Mayonnaise Cake

List of Ingredients





1 cup boiling water
1 cup nuts
1 cup raisins or dates
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla



Recipe



Pour boiling water over nuts, raisins and baking soda and set aside.

Place mayonnaise in a bowl and add sugar, cocoa and cinnamon and mix well.

Combine flour and salt and add to mayonnaise mixture alternately with
the nut-raisin mixture, including the water. Add vanilla and mix well.

Pour batter into a greased and floured 9- by 13-inch baking pan. Bake
at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in
middle of cake comes out clean. Cool and dust lightly with powdered
sugar.
