    List of Ingredients


    • 2-1/2 cups peach slices, drained
    • 1/4 cup peach syrup
    • 1-1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
    • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
    • 1/2 teaspoon lemon rind, grated
    • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
    • 1 cup flour, sifted
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 cup shortening
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1/3 cup peach syrup
    • 2 Tablespoons sugar


    Instructions


    1. Arrange peaches in a greased 8x8x2 inch pan, and sprinkle with mixture of 1/4 c. syrup, lemon juice, lemon rind and almond extract.
    2. Heat in oven for 5 minutes.
    3. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    4. Cut in shortening until mixture looks like corn meal; then stir in beaten egg and 1/3 c. syrup, stirring just until dry ingredients are moist.
    5. Drop by Tablespoonfuls over peaches, and spread together with a spatula.
    6. Sprinkle with sugar.
    7. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
