    My Grandma Mary (McQuin) Brownfield's Cookbook

    List of Ingredients




    Cookies:
    1 c. butter (I use fat-free or low fat)(unsweetened applesauce could also be used, just don't use a full cup)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs or egg sub equiv.
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 t. cream of tartar
    1 t. baking soda
    1/2 t. salt

    Topping:
    2 T. sugar
    1 t. cinnamon

    Recipe



    In large bowl cream together butter, sugar and eggs.

    In a separate bowl, to flour add cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add to the first mixture.

    Roll dough in balls the size of a walnut. Roll each ball in mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake 8 to 10 minutes in 400 degree oven, until light brown, but still soft.
