    When baking potatoes in the microwave without stuffing, let them cook until just barely done, then transfer them to a toaster oven preheated to 375 degrees until the rest of the meal is ready (about 10 to 15 minutes). This way the skin tastes like that of a regular oven-baked potato.


    When cooking several potatoes, arrange in a circle around the outer edge of turntable or plate, with thickest part toward the outside.
