    Pineapple Angel Food Cake

    List of Ingredients




    1 box angel food cake mix
    1 20-ounce can crushed pineapple

    Optional Ingredients:

    2 cups whipping cream
    4 Tbs confectioners' sugar
    2 Tbs coconut rum

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Blend cake mix and crushed pineapple for one minute at medium speed, no more. Pour batter into angel food tube cake pan or 9- by 13-inch pan. Bake on bottom rack of oven at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Cool tube cake upside down in pan for one hour. Slice cooled cake with a serrated-edge knife.

    This cake is delicious plain. But to make it extra festive, you also could offer flavored whipped cream on the side.

    Beat 2 cups whipping cream until it starts to thicken. Add 4 Tbs confectioners' sugar and 2 Tbs coconut rum. Continue beating until cream is thick.
