    Oriental Pot Roast

    List of Ingredients




    2 TBL vegetable oil
    One 3 lb chuck roast (or top or bottom round)
    2 TBL grated gingerroot
    1/2 cup sherry
    1/4 cup soy sauce
    1/2 cup water
    3 TBL chopped green bell pepper
    3 whole green onions
    1 tsp salt

    Recipe



    Heat the oil in a roasting pan until hot. Add the roast & ginger. Cook until brown on all sides; drain. Stir in the sherry & soy sauce. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the water, green pepper, green onions, salt & anise seeds & mix well. Cook, covered, over low heat for 3 hours or until the roast is done to taste, stirring occasionally.
