    Pizza Crumb

    Recipe Introduction

I have made this for many, many years -- it is wonderful and we love this. One of the regular customers gave me this recipe when I was waiting tables at my husband's family's restaurant way back when. The batter is very thick -- I work with it using a rubber scrapper pushing and spreading it until it fills the entire bottom of the cookie sheet; it just takes a little patience and knowing who's the boss. LOL The crumbs used to be much bigger for me, but the past 10 years or so, they come out very fine. I have always used margarine and they changed the product back at that time to a spread. Even though I have been using LOL margarine to bake with, they still come out very fine. Maybe if I used the real stuff -- butter, they would be bigger. Anyway, it tastes the same! It is very thin like a pizza topped with crumbs, hence the name, Pizza Crumb. By Barb

    List of Ingredients

    Pizza Crumb
    1/4 lb. margarine or butter
    1 C sugar
    2 eggs
    1/4 C milk
    2 C flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    Crumb Topping
    1/4 C margarine, melted
    2 C Bisquick
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 C sugar
    confectioners' sugar

    Recipe

Cream margarine and sugar together. Add eggs and milk; mix well.
Add flour, baking powder salt and vanilla. Mixture will be thick.
Spread onto greased and floured cookie sheet (with sides) about 17x14x1-inches.
    Top with crumbs.
For Crumb Topping: To melted margarine add Bisquick, cinnamon and sugar. Toss with fork, or use fingers or use a pastry blender to make crumbs. Spread on top of cake batter before baking.
Bake at 325ºF for 40 minutes.
Dust with confectioners' sugar when cool.
