08/16/2011 National Rum Day Apple Cider Buttered Rum

    Recipe Tips

    Recipe Introduction

What a debt we owe to molasses, a mere by-product of the sugar refining process. Centuries ago, in the Caribbean, it was first used to distill rum. Rum quickly became the New World's signature spirit. Sweet yet potent, rum became the liquor of choice for gentlemen and for pirates. That's to say nothing of the entire British Royal Navy, which until 1970 distributed a daily rum ration to sailors. CD Kitchen
