    Cane Syrup Cookies


    2 cups Steen's 100% Pure Cane Syrup
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1½ cups sugar
    1 cup (2 sticks) butter
    5 eggs
    1 cup milk
    1½ teaspoons allspice
    1 teaspoon ground cloves
    5½ cups all-purpose flour
    1 3/4 cups raisins
    1 cup chopped pecans

    Recipe




    Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

    Put the syrup in a medium-size mixing bowl. Add the soda and beat
    until the mixture is golden. Set aside.

    Cream the sugar and butter together. Add the eggs, one at a time,
    mixing between each addition. Alternate the flour and spices with the
    milk. Add the syrup mixture, raisins, and nuts. Stir to mix. Drop by
    spoonfuls on a cookie sheet. Bake until golden brown, about 10
    minutes.

    Makes 6 to 7 dozen cookies
