You Gotta' Be A Football Hero

    Source of Recipe

    Marla

    Recipe Introduction

*(It usually feeds four - but this time it will feed one). TIME: This can only be made 1/2 hour after football practice or after playing football - or 1/2 hour before watching your favorite team play on T.V. PROCEDURE: 1. Wash you hands, smarty, you just came off of the field. On second thought, change your clothes and take a shower. 2. OK we're ready -

    List of Ingredients

You Gotta' Be A Football Hero

    1 lg. Italian-French bread*
    1/4 lb. Italian salami
    1/ lb. wide bologna
    1/4 lb. pepperoni
    1/4 lb. smoked turkey breast
    1/4 lb. roast beef
    1/4 lb. Provolone cheese
    1/4 head of lettuce
    1 lg. beef steak tomato
    1/2 Bermuda onion
    1 hot cherry pepper (optional)
    1/8 c. Caesar's salad dressing

    Recipe

Slice the bread lengthways. (We're not sharing this baby). 3. Pour on the Caesar dressing and let it sink into the bread - yum, yum. (No bread nibbling - that's off-sides - and delays your game plan by 5 minutes. 4. On the bottom half of the bread, lay your bed of lettuce and tomato. 5. Now comes the salami, bologna, pepperoni, turkey, roast beef, and Provolone. Overlap the pieces in alternate fashion. Looks real pretty, right? 6. Add the onion and red hot pepper. 7. Carefully place on the top piece of bread - no fumbles now - we could lose the ball. 8. Chew the defensive alignments - especially if you have large siblings or hungry parents. Watch out for those ex-Lincoln football players from the classes of '55-'69 (you call them pop or dad). 9. Eat from a paper plate - since we don't want to wash any dishes. 10. To be eaten with something cold - like soda or ice water, since that hot pepper is going to stick you like a good corner back. 11. OK - it's first and ten - 12. Hike - set - ready - go - "LET'S EAT!!"
