Dried, Ground Spices Recipe
Dried ground spices are not supposed to be kept forever. It is a good
idea to buy ground spices in small amounts because they lose their aroma
and flavor quickly. Store your spices in an airtight container and in a
cool, dark place. Never store them over a stovetop where it can be hot. If
ground spices are kept right, they can last for 6 months. Always date your
spices after you buy them. Allspice, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg can be
bought whole and ground when you need them. Spices that are freshly ground
smell and taste wonderful. Whole spices should also be stored in the same
manner as ground spices.
