    Cheesy Lemon Bars
    Servings: 12

    Base
    1 package lemon cake mix
    1/2 cup butter (or margarine)
    1 egg
    Filling
    1 can lemon frosting, ready to spread
    8 ounce cream cheese, softened
    1 egg
    1/3 cup nuts, chopped
    as needed powdered sugar (optional)

    Recipe



    Heat oven to 350° F. Grease and flour a 9x13 pan. In a large bowl, combine all base ingredients at low speed until crumbly. Press in prepared pan. In small bowl combine frosting, cream cheese and egg at low speed until well blended. Beat at highest speed until smooth. Stir in nuts, spread over base. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until firm. Chill 2 hours or until served. Sift or sprinkle powdered sugar on top and cut into bars.
