Coffee Lemon Bars

2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour, divided
3/4 cup sifted confectioners' sugar, divided
1/4 cup plus teaspoons Kahlua
2 sticks (1 cup) butter
4 eggs, beaten
2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Recipe
Sift together 2 cups of the flour and 1/2 cup of the confectioners sugar. Add 2 teaspoons of the Kahlua. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture clings together. Press into a 13 X 9 X 2 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 min. (or until barely turning tan). Blend together the eggs, granulated sugar, the remaining 1/4 cup Kahlua and fresh lemon juice. Sift together the remaining 1/4 cup flour and the baking powder. Stir flour mixture into egg mixture. Pour over baked crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 min., or until custard tests done. Sprinkle with remaining confectioners' sugar. Cut into squares or bars.
