    1 package (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate pieces (2 cups)

    1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter

    1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk

    2 cups flour

    1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (optional)

    1 tsp. vanilla

    60 candy kisses, unwrapped

    Heat oven to 350F.

    Recipe




    Heat chocolate chips in heavy medium-size saucepan over very low heat, stirring until melted. Add
    condensed milk.

    Combine flour, chopped nuts if using, chocolate mixture and vanilla in a medium-size bow to make the
    dough.

    Shape 1 level tablespoon of dough around each candy kiss, enclosing completely.

    Arrange 1-inch apart on ungreased baking sheets.

    Bake for 6 to 8 minutes; cookies will be soft and look shiny, but will become firm as they cool. Transfer
    bonbons to wire racks to cool.

    Decoration:

    2 ounces white chocolate baking bar

    1 tsp. solid vegetable shortening OR: vegetable oil

    Prepare Decoration:

    Melt together white chocolate and shortening in small, heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly
    until smooth. Drizzle over cookies in zigzag design. Store in airtight container.
