Rumor has it that chocolate can restore the soul - or at least make you feel good.
But, what about carob? Is it the "health food" chocolate of the world?
When it comes to calories, sugar content and nutrition, there is very little difference.
But, carob tastes sweeter than chocolate before they are processed. When you use
carob in a recipe instead of chocolate, you can add less sugar

CAROB NUT SQUARES
1 cup chopped nuts
1 Tablespoon carob powder
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon honey
Recipe
1. Put the nuts, carob powder and vanilla in a blender or food processor. Blend
into a powder.
2. Add the honey and blend to make a stiff paste. OR dump the powder into a bowl
and blend in the honey by hand.
3. Press the mixture into a small pan or onto a plate - about 1/2" thick. Chill
in the refrigerator to harden. Cut into squares
