ROD 6/17/2006 Mud Pack Day Chocolate Mud

    Source of Recipe

    Recipe Introduction

The best old-fashioned, time-tested facial is... MUD! You might dig up some dirt in your own yard - or go buy a cheap mud masque at any drug store. This refreshes your skin by stimulating blood circulation and relaxing tired muscles. If you need a "pick-me-up" just wash your face, apply the mud pack, allow 15 minutes for it to dry and harden, then remove with warm water and a washcloth. Oh... and don't go near anyone who has a camera!

    List of Ingredients

ROD 6/17/2006 Mud Pack Day Chocolate Mud Squares

    Chocolate Mud Squares

1/2 cup butter or margarine, room temperature
    1 cup granulated sugar
    2 large eggs, separated
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 cup chopped pecans
    1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
    1 cup miniature marshmallows
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed

    Recipe

Cream butter and granulated sugar at medium speed of a hand held mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks, one at a time, until well blended. Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Gently stir flour mixture into butter mixture. Press batter into a greased and floured 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Pack down. Sprinkle with chopped pecans, chocolate chips, and marshmallows. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold in brown sugar. Spread over the topping in pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes, or until crust is formed. Cool bars in pan on a rack. Cut cooled bars into squares.
