Yes, Emma M. Nutt was a real person! She's famous for being the first female telephone operator. Initially, the phone company hired young boys - with disastrous results. They fought with each other, were unruly and rude to customers. On September 1st, 1878, Emma was hired (along with her sister). Her career saying "operator" lasted 33 years. I wonder how many wrong numbers that included! Ring-a-ding-ding!

CELEBRATE THE DATE RECIPE

Cool Operator


1 oz melon liqueur
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz white rum
4 oz grapefruit juice
2 oz orange juice





Recipe

Pour all ingredients into a blender half-filled with ice. Blend until thick. Pour into a parfait glass. Garnish with a melon wedge and a maraschino cherry, and serve.
