    Hot Dog Day

    Hot dogs are really "frankfurters" and were first made in Frankfurt, Germany. But, people called them "dachshund sausage," because they looked like the dog. In the U.S., the German sausages were popular with New York baseball fans - vendors sold them in sandwiches by yelling, "Get your dachshund sausages while they're red hot." In a newspaper cartoon, the vendors were shown selling real dogs inside a roll, yelling "Get your hot dogs!". The name stuck

    Hot Dog Day

    Hot Dog surprise


    1 package Hot dogs
    1 Small onion
    1 Small can of tomato paste
    1 tbsp Margarine or butter, 1 tbsp of flour, 2 cups of milk, salt+pepper

    Recipe



    Slice up the hot dogs. Chop the onions. Cook together for 5-10 min , until brown. Remove from pan. Make tomato sauce out of butter, flour and milk. Stir until smooth, add tomato paste. Add more milk if the sauce seems too thick. Let it simmer for 5 min. Serve over rice

    Serve with rice and a vegetable
