    Sugared Nuts

    1 lb. walnut pieces or pecans

    1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

    1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

    1 1/2 tsp.. ground cinnamon

    1/4 tsp. ground ginger

    1/4 tsp. ground allspice

    1/8 tsp. ground cloves


    Recipe

    Stir walnuts or pecans and butter in a 3 1/2-quart slow
    cooker until nuts
    are coated. Add confectioners' sugar, stirring to coat
    evenly.
    Cover and slow cook on High for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to
    Low and slow
    cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until all nuts are
    coated with a
    crisp glaze, about 2 hours.
    Remove nuts to a serving bowl. In a small bowl, combine
    cinnamon, ginger,
    allspice and cloves. Sift the spices over the walnut pieces
    or pecans,
    stirring to coat evenly.
    Cool completely before serving.
    Makes 4 cups.
