    Mushrooms with Herb & Garlic

    List of Ingredients

    For the dip:

    300 ml (1/2 pint) soured cream

    2 tsp dill

    1/2 tsp garlic granules

    salt and ground white pepper to taste


    450 g (1 lb) button mushrooms

    2 tbs plain flour

    2 medium eggs - beaten

    175 g (6 oz) Herbes de Provence and 175 g (6 oz) seasoned brown breadcrumbs - mixed together

    oil for deep frying



    Recipe

    Combine the ingredients for the dip and refrigerate until required. Toss the mushrooms in the flour followed by the beaten egg. Thoroughly coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Deep fry in hot oil for 4-5 minutes or until golden. Drain on kitchen paper and serve hot, accompanied by the dip. Serves 4.
