    1 lb. stew beef or shoulder steak, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
    1 (approximately 1 oz.) package brown gravy mix
    1/3 cup hearty Burgundy wine
    2/3 cup water
    1 tsp. butter
    8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    12 small pearl onions, peeled, or 3/4 cup chopped onions
    1 tsp. dry thyme or parsley
    Long grain and wild rice

    Place gravy mix in small bowl; gradually stir in wine and water. Set aside.
    Melt butter in large non-stick skillet. Brown beef cubes over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes add mushrooms and onions and cook an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Add gravy mixture and thyme to pan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low setting, cover and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Serve over wild rice.
