Apple Walnut Cobbler
5 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples
3/4 cup walnuts, divided
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/3 cup margarine or butter melted
Heat oven to 325 degrees.
Lightly grease a 2 qt square baking dish.
Spread apples in prepared dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup walnuts.
In a small bowl, stir together 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over apples.
In medium bowl, stir together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and baking powder.
In small bowl combine egg, evaporated milk, and melted butter.
Stir into flour mixture until smooth. Pour evenly over apples,
sprinkle with remaining walnuts.
Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center
comes out clean. Cut into squares, serve warm
topped with ice cream or whipped topping.

Grandma's Autumn Apple Cake
3 eggs
1 3/4 cup sugar
1 cup oil
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups sliced apples (peeled and cored.)
1 cup walnuts
Beat eggs and sugar together, add oil a little at a time.
Then add flour, salt and dry ingredients to mixture.
Add vanilla, fold in apples and nuts.
Pour batter into a greased and floured
bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 40 to 50 minutes.
When cool transfer to plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.

Dutch Apple Bread
Cream together 1/2 cup of butter and 1 cup of sugar.
Add 2 large eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat well.
Add 2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt alternately with 1/4 cup buttermilk
Fold in 1 cup chopped apples and 1/4 cup chopped walnuts.
Pour into greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
Topping
1/3 cup flour
2 Tbs. sugar
2 Tbs. brown sugar
1/2 t cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
Combine and crumble over batter.
Bake 55 minutes at 350 degrees.
