Oatmeal Cake

1 1/4 cup boiling water
1 cup quick oats
1 stick butter or margarine
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/3 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinamonRecipe
Pour boiling water over oats; add butter, cover, and let stand 20 minutes. Add remaining ingredients; mix. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 325 degrees in greased 9 x 14 x 2" baking dish or pan, or in two smaller pans. Spread topping while warm and broil until slightly brown.
Topping:
Mix 1 stick soft margarine, 1/4 cup milk or cream 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 cup coconut, 1/2 cup chopped pans (more for two pans).
