    1 c. butter
    2 eggs
    3 tbsp. cocoa
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. red cake coloring
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. soda

    Recipe



    Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time. In a small bowl, mix food coloring and cocoa. Add sugar to mixture. Add butter, milk , and vanilla, alternately, with flour and salt. Mix vinegar and soda and add to batter. Bake in 2 9 inch greased pans for 35 minutes at 350 degrees.


    Icing for cake

    1 8 oz. pkg. softened cream cheese
    1/4 lb. butter, softened
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 box powdered sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla

    Mix cheese and sugar together. Add sugar gradually and mix well. Add vanilla and nuts. Mix well.
