    Mishie's Turkey and Mushroom Burger

    Recipe Introduction

This recipe seems a little long but is extremely easy to make and is so worth it!! TIP: Ground turkey on the BBQ is a little tricky so make sure to cook well on each side before flipping!!!!

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 lb. ground turkey
    • 4 large cloves garlic chopped
    • 2 tbsp. fresh rosemary
    • 1 package Savory Herb with Garlic lipton soup mix
    • 1 tbsp. dijon mustard
    • 4 tbsp. pesto (sicilian style is best)
    • 3/4 cup cooking sherry
    • 1 cup crushed herbed croutons (Marie Calendars is best)
    • 8 slices San Luis Sourdough bread
    • 4 slices Tillamook cheddar cheese (pre-sliced is good)
    • 1 tbsp. butter
    • 1 package pre-sliced mushrooms
    • 1 cup chopped red onion
    • mayo (optional)
    • salt and pepper to taste

    Instructions

    1. Combine first 8 ingredients in a large ziplock bag adding ONLY 2 tbsp. pesto and 2 tbsp. sherry. Mix well and place in fridge for 30 minutes. Remove and make 4 patties.

    2. Grill over med/high heat making sure to grill the first side well before trying to flip. After flipping cook another approx. 7 minutes then place cheese on each burger. Place all bread on grill, flip once before removing both burgers and bread.

    3. While burgers are cooking melt butter in pan over med heat. Add mushrooms and onion and saute until well browned. Salt and pepper to taste. Add remaining sherry and continue to saute until the liquid is all cooked off. Set Aside.

    4. Spread mayo(optional) and remaining pesto on grilled bread, cut burgers in half and add them to the bread then top with the mushroom mixture and cut each in half.
