    List of Ingredients


    • 1-1/2 c. uncooked elbow macaroni
    • 5 T. butter or margarine, divided
    • 3 T. all-purpose flour
    • 1-1/2 c. milk
    • 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
    • 2 oz. process American cheese, cubed
    • 1/2 t. salt
    • 1/4 t. pepper
    • 2 T. dry bread crumbs


    Instructions


    1. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. Place in a greased 1-1/2-qt. baking dish; set aside.
    2. In a saucepan, melt 4 T. butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth. Gradually add milk; bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes; reduce heat. Stir in cheeses,salt and pepper until cheese is melted. Pour over macaroni; mix well. Melt the remaining butter; add the bread crumbs. Sprinkle over casserole.
    3. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
