    List of Ingredients


    • 1 c. butter, softened
    • 1-1/2 c. sugar
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 t. vanilla extract
    • 1 c. all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 c. baking cocoa
    • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    • 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
    • 1 c. shredded coconut
    • ICING:
    • 2 c. confectioners' surgar
    • 1/4 c. baking cocoa
    • 5 T. evaporated milk
    • 2 T. butter or margarine, melted
    • 1/2 t. vanilla extract


    Instructions


    1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
    2. Combine flour, cocoa and walnuts; add to the creamed mixture. Spread into a greased 13X9X2-in. baking pan.
    3. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
    4. Combine condensed milk and coconut; carefully spread over the hot chcolate layer.
    5. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until coconut is lightly browned.
    6. Combine icing ingredients until smooth; spread over warm bars. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before cutting.


    Final Comments


    Yield: about 4 dozen.
