    The Best of Italian Cooking

    Recipe Introduction

In Italian, "crostini" means "little toasts." To make them, a skinny loaf of Italian bread (baguette) is thinly sliced, brushed with oil and toasted in the oven.

    List of Ingredients

    • 20 (1/2" thick) slices French bread
    • 1 T olive oil
    • 1/2 cup garlic and herb cream cheese spread
    • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

    Instructions

    1. Place bread slices on ungreased cookie sheet. Lightly brush each with oil. Broil 4 to 6-inches from heat for about 1 minute or until light golden brown.
    2. In small bowl, combine cream cheese and green onions; blend well. Spread mixture on toasted bread slices. Return to broiler; broil 1 minute or until cream cheese bubbles.
