    • 3 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 1/2 T baking powder
    • 3/4 tsp salt
    • 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
    • 1 cup chopped pecans
    • 1/3 cup milk
    • 2/3 cup pure maple syrup, plus more for brushing


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter with pastry blender. Add pecans.
    3. In separate bowl, whisk together milk and syrup. Slowly pour liquid into dry ingredients while mixing until combined. Dough should be firm.
    4. Roll out dough on floured surface to 1 1/2" thick. Cut scones with 3" round biscuit cutter. Brush tops with additional maple syrup. Place on greased and floured cookie sheet.
    5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden.
