    White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Drop Scone

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/3 cup plus 2 T sugar, divided
    • 1 1/2 tsps baking powder
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 6 T unsalted butter, cut into pieces
    • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
    • 1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts
    • 2/3 cup buttermilk
    • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
    2. In a large bowl, combine flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts; mix well.
    3. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture, stirring until dough is just combined.
    4. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets; sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake for 14 to 16 minutes, or until lightly browned.
