    Whole Wheat Quick Bread

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups whole wheat flour
    • 1 1/2 cups flour
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
    • 1 large egg
    • 3 T honey
    • 2 T butter, melted
    • 3/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted (optional)
    • 3 T uncooked regular oats (optional)


    Instructions


    1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Combine buttermilk and next 3 ingredients; add to dry ingredients, stirring until blended. Stir in pecans, if desired. Pour batter into a well-greased 9x5-inch loafpan. Sprinkle with oats, if desired.
    2. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan, and cool completely on wire rack.
