    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
    • 2 cups brown sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 1 cup chopped walnuts
    • confectioners' sugar (optional)


    Instructions


    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour an 8" square pan.
    2. In a large bowl combine the butter and brown sugar. Mix well. Add the eggs and mix well. Add the flour, baking powder, and vanilla. Stir in the nuts.
    3. Spoon into 8" pan. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. (Brownies will not seem completely firm.) Let cool for 15 minutes and then cut into squares. Cool completely, remove from the pan, and shake the brownies in a bag with the confectioners' sugar, if desired.

    Makes 16 to 20 brownies
