    Recipe Introduction

Pecans and chocolate combine for this updated Thanksgiving classic. Your guests will give thanks as soon as they taste a slice of this rich, decadent pie!

    List of Ingredients

    • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
    • 2 T butter
    • 2 cups (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 cup light corn syrup
    • 2 T flour
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 1 prepared unbaked piecrust (9")
    • 1 cup pecan halves

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a small, heavy saucepan, combine evaporated milk, butter and chocolate chips. Stir over low heat, until mixture is melted and smooth, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
    2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and corn syrup; mix in flour and salt until well blended. Stir in chocolate mixture until completely blended; stir in vanilla.
    3. Pour chocolate filling into piecrust. Arrange pecans on top in concentric circles. Bake pie until filling is almost set, about 40 minutes. (Check pie after 30 minutes; if crust is brown, cover edge with foil to prevent burning.)
    4. Cool pie on a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
