    List of Ingredients


    • CAKE:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
    • 2 tsps baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • dash cinnamon
    • 1 cup buttermilk
    • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 1/2 tsps vanilla extract
    • 1 cup hot coffee
    • FROSTING:
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/2 cup butter, cut up
    • 1 cup chocolate chips
    • 2 tsps vanilla extract


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 350. In large bowl, stir together flour, 2 cups sugar, cocoa, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
    2. In medium bowl, stir together buttermilk, oil, eggs and 1 1/2 tsps vanilla.
    3. Whisk buttermilk mixture into flour mixture. Whisk in coffee.
    4. Pour into 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
    5. Meanwhile, in medium saucepan, bring 2 cups sugar, milk and butter to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Pour into large bowl. Add chocolate chips and 2 tsps vanilla; stir until chips are melted. Let stand 20 minutes or until room temperature. Beat at medium speed 10 minutes or until of spreadable consistency. Spread over cooled cake.
