    List of Ingredients


    • 1 lb. butter
    • 1 c. sugar
    • 5 c. flour


    Instructions


    1. Cream butter and sugar. Add flour, 1 c. at a time.
    2. Place batter on 18x12" baking sheet, and using hands, spread to cover entire tray. With a fork, make rows of tine marks. Sprinkle with sugar.
    3. Bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes. Cut in squares when cool.

    4. Variation: Add a little orange or rose water flavoring - the flavor is not heavy and no one can figure out what it is!

    5. For the sugar you sprinkle on top, use colored sugar. This is great for holidays or even weddings, since the sugar comes in a wide variety of colors. Available at cake supply shops etc.
    6. Can also use flavored sugars on top, orange or lemon is nice.
