    Recipe Introduction

This treat snaps together with five ready-to-go ingredients.

    List of Ingredients

    • nonstick cooking spray
    • 16 graham cracker squares
    • 24 vanilla caramels, unwrapped
    • 2 T milk or water
    • 1 cup chopped pecans
    • 1 11-1/2 to 12-oz pkg dark or semisweet chocolate pieces

    Instructions

    1. Line a 13x9x2-inch baking pan with foil, allowing foil to extend over edges of pan. Lightly coat foil with cooking spray. cover bottom of pan with a single layer of graham crackers, breaking crackers as needed to fit. Set aside.
    2. In a microwave-safe bowl combine caramels and milk. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until caramels are melted, stirring once. Quickly pour mixture over crackers, spreading evenly.
    3. Sprinkle pecans over warm caramel layer. With a rubber spatula, lightly press pecans into caramel. Sprinkle chocolate pieces over top.
    4. Bake in 300 degree oven about 4 minutes or until chocolate pieces soften (they will still hold their shape). Spread softened pieces with a knife to cover caramel evenly. Cool on a wire rack for 5 miutes, then chill about 15 minutes or until firm. Use foil to lift toffee out of pan. Remove foil from toffee. On a cutting board, cut or break into pieces.
