- 1 box (1 lb) confectioners' sugar
- 3 T egg white powder
- 6 T water
- paste food coloring
Instructions
- In a large bowl with an electric mixer at medium-high speed, beat the sugar, egg white powder, and water until thick and fluffy about 4 minutes.
- To make outlines on cookies use a pastry bag fitted with a small plain tip.
- To ice entire cookie, fill a resealable plastic bag with some icing. Snip a small corner from the bag and pipe an outline of the cookie around the edge. Thin the remaining icing with water until it is easily spreadable. With a long metal spatula, cover the cookies with icing. Allow to dry thoroughly, preferably overnight.
- To paint cookies, thin the icing with water. Dip cookie cutters into icing and lightly imprint cookies for an outline to use. With a paint brush, fill in the outlines with icing. Allow the icing to dry, about 1 hour.
