    Recipe Introduction

Offer these melt-in-the-mouth cookies to the kids and they’ll quickly ask for seconds.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
    • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 1/4 teaspoon water
    • 6 ounces semisweet mini chocolate chips
    • 6 ounces butterscotch chips
    • 3/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans, toasted (about 3 ounces)

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix together flour, baking soda, and salt.
    2. Beat together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, vanilla, and water.
    3. At low speed, beat in flour mixture, 1/2 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and nuts.
    4. Drop batter by rounded teaspoonfuls onto 2 ungreased baking sheets, 2 inches apart.
    5. Bake cookies until golden, 7 minutes. Transfer baking sheets to wire racks to cool slightly. Transfer cookies to racks to cool completely.
